Device intelligence describes observed devices and their relationships with activity. Wallet reputation describes recorded on-chain activity. Proof-of-personhood systems verify an identity assertion under a particular scheme. A Sybil-resistant campaign can combine these layers, but should first specify what each result establishes and where it becomes an eligibility requirement.

Compare assertions before scores
A score of 80 can mean high risk in one product and strong reputation in another. A verified credential can establish liveness, an attribute or uniqueness depending on the requested type. Product names and numerical ranges are insufficient for choosing a gate.
| Layer | Main question | Typical output | Important boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Device/account | Do observed participants share device or account relationships? | Identifier, risk finding, linked identities | A device is not a physical person |
| Wallet reputation | What history and behavior does an address show? | Activity or reputation score, metrics | An established wallet can still coordinate with others |
| Wallet Sybil analysis | Do address relationships suggest coordinated participation? | Sybil score, cluster or analyst report | Shared infrastructure can connect legitimate users |
| Uniqueness credential | Does the participant meet the chosen verification scheme? | Proof, verification status or action-scoped result | Scope, enrollment, freshness and duplicate prevention matter |
Use this table to name the evidence gap before opening vendor demos. A project with only a historical wallet list has a different starting point from a new browser-based enrollment flow.
Device intelligence: the participant’s live application context
ShieldLabs combines device/network intelligence with account-abuse detection. It adds risk scores and Trusted, Suspicious and Dangerous verdicts for visitors, users, devices and IP, alongside linked identities and ready-made Multi-accounting detection.
Its useful contribution is cross-checking live evidence rather than relying only on an IP blocklist or a wallet’s age. The application supplies the relevant account or wallet association. Collection must cover the supported visit; a direct contract action with no required eligibility authorization can bypass the web flow entirely.
Fingerprint provides a device-identity primitive and signals for teams implementing their own association and campaign logic. Verisoul combines session evidence and account evaluation. Inspect the exact product’s output instead of assuming all device products ship the same ready-made finding.
Wallet reputation and wallet Sybil risk
Nomis uses wallet activity for reputation. Its airdrop analytics also describes clustering and behavioral segmentation. Reputation can help understand contribution and engagement, while coordination analysis helps investigate repeated participation.
Trusta’s documentation separates MEDIA reputation from Sybil Score. That distinction matters operationally: a valuable, active wallet is not necessarily an independent participant. Select the endpoint and interpretation corresponding to the intended question.
Sparse history needs a separate outcome. TrustScan’s usage guide describes Unknown when activity is insufficient. Treating that as safe invents confidence; treating it as confirmed abuse penalizes newcomers. An alternative verification route can preserve eligibility without ignoring uncertainty.
Personhood: define which property is verified
World ID distinguishes Proof of Human, attributes and presence. Presence checks and a uniqueness credential are different assertions. Its verification reference returns individual proof results; a top-level successful response does not necessarily mean every required proof passed.
BrightID uses a social identity network. Its public onboarding includes an app, verification and connection to participating applications. Project sponsorship capacity and participant access to the verification route belong in the implementation plan.
Humanode documents biometric authentication for its network, while BotBasher applies a specific model to community access. Neither should be described as passive device fingerprinting or an automatic generic claim contract.
Human Passport spans several categories: stamps, model-based detection and batch Data Services. Identify the selected product rather than reducing its current suite to one credential collection mechanism.
Compose the layers without double-counting evidence
Two scores can rely on overlapping inputs. Repeatedly counting wallet age, a funding address and a credential derived from the same wallet activity does not create three independent confirmations.
For each required result, document its source, collection time, subject identifier and dependency. Establish which participant and campaign it refers to. Then record how it changes eligibility: supporting information, review trigger or mandatory condition.
An illustrative flow might verify a required uniqueness credential for a high-value allocation, inspect wallet history for campaign qualification and use live device/account evidence to investigate repeated submissions. The final eligibility service still has to bind the result to the intended wallet and prevent duplicate allocation. That is application architecture, not something achieved by merely placing three badges on a page.
Choose a pilot that exposes the gaps
Include a legitimate new participant, an established multi-wallet owner, separate people sharing hardware, a recovered wallet and controlled repeated participation. Test missing data and verification expiration as well as successful responses.
Compare participant effort and review workload alongside the quality of the evidence. A higher-friction scheme may fit a one-person allocation while being unsuitable for a broad introductory campaign. A passive route may improve access while requiring an additional uniqueness check for a particular entitlement.
The alternatives page groups the products by layer. The methodology explains why a rubric emphasizing live coordination prevention may rank a tool differently from a personhood-only or wallet-analytics-only comparison.
FAQ
Is a high wallet reputation score proof of unique personhood?
No. It describes activity under a reputation model. Unique-person eligibility requires a defined verification scheme and duplicate-use enforcement.
Is liveness the same as uniqueness?
No. A live person can create repeated accounts. Choose the credential or verification property that matches the campaign’s participation rule.
Should every campaign buy all three layers?
No. Start with the entitlement, available evidence and audience. Add the layers needed to cover concrete gaps and evaluate their user effort and operating cost.
